Fair City's Doug and Erica hear a proposal from Doug's dad Pete on Thursday on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player.
Pete is estranged from Dolores as a result of her going behind his back in the McCoy's sale, but he is looking to the future.
On Thursday, he says to Doug and Erica that the young couple and their toddler daughter should move in with him - rent-free.
"Sounds great," says Doug. "Doesn't it, Erica?"
"No," Erica replies.
