My view on this is that hesitation often comes from fear of the unknown, lack of confidence, or comfort in routine. To overcome this resistance: 1. Educate Yourself – Understanding the benefits of functional training can help ease doubts. 2. Start Small – Integrating one or two new exercises into your routine can make the transition smoother. 3. Seek Guidance – Working with a trainer or experienced peers can boost confidence. 4. Adopt a Growth Mindset – Viewing new training methods as a challenge rather than a threat makes it easier to embrace change. 5. Track Progress – Noticing improvements in strength, mobility, or endurance can reinforce motivation.

It's not my expertise area, but figure Out the Why – Are you worried about injury? Doubting the effectiveness? Just stuck in your routine? Identifying the real reason helps you address it directly. Start Small – No need to go full beast mode on day one. Pick one new movement or method and integrate it gradually. Find a Fun Factor – If it feels like a chore, you won’t stick with it. Maybe it’s kettlebell flows, battle ropes, or animal movements—find what excites you.

Trying new functional training methods can be hesitating, but it's a great way to elevate your fitness routine and achieve your goals. The key is to start small and introduce one new exercise at a time, so you can focus on proper form and build confidence. It's also important to educate yourself on the benefits and proper form of each new method, whether that's through watching tutorials, reading articles, or working with a personal trainer. Having a workout partner who's also open to trying new things can be a great motivator, providing mutual support and confidence.

Overcoming hesitancy not only expands your fitness capabilities but also leads to long-term health benefits. Feeling hesitant about new functional training methods is natural, but stepping outside your comfort zone is where real progress happens. By educating yourself, starting small, focusing on technique, training with a partner, and setting achievable goals, you can gradually embrace functional training with confidence. Over time, these new movements will feel just as natural as your current routine—if not more rewarding. The key is to stay open-minded, patient, and consistent. You might be surprised at how much you enjoy the challenge once you start!

Pretest and post-test. What is the corrective supposed to treat? Does it treat the dysfunctional movement correctly? If so,fantastic. If not, maybe try it one or two more times on different clients. Ditch it if it doesn't work, adopt it if it does.
