"It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it." When your network crashes during peak hours, it’s stressful and every minute counts. It’s all about staying calm, acting smart, and keeping communication open. Here’s how to stay on top of it: 1. Start with the impact: Figure out what’s hit the hardest so you can fix the most urgent issues first. 2. Use your resources wisely: Focus your team and tools where they’ll make the biggest difference fast. 3. Keep everyone in the loop: Clear, honest updates help manage pressure and build trust while the fix is in progress.

When network issues arise during peak business hours, efficient prioritization of recovery tasks becomes crucial. Here's how we approach this challenge: * Triage the Incident. * Apply the 80/20 Rule * Leverage Automation and Redundancy Automated failover mechanisms and redundant network paths reduce downtime. * Communicate in Real Time Keeping stakeholders informed is critical. Providing timely updates on the issue, expected resolution times, and available workarounds helps manage expectations. * Document and Review From my experience, maintaining a well-defined incident response playbook, conducting regular team drills, and ensuring transparent communication with stakeholders ensures swift and coordinated action during such scenarios.

In moments like this, emotional intelligence isn’t optional—it’s essential. Start by staying calm and composed. Your team and stakeholders mirror your energy. If you lead with panic, confusion spreads. If you lead with clarity, they’ll follow your focus. Then, apply empathetic prioritization: Which systems impact your customers the most? What tasks will restore trust fastest? Who needs information right now to do their job? Communicate transparently, even if the answer is “we’re working on it.” People can handle the truth—they can’t handle silence. Finally, recognize your team’s effort, even mid-crisis. A simple “I see how hard you’re working” can keep morale afloat and minds sharp. In crisis, EI turns chaos into coordinated action.

It is important to identify the systems with the most impact on the most users to prioritize recovery. You may want to know: 1) What work is already done as those systems may be a lower priority. 2) What work is dependent on other work to be finished may be a medium priority. 3) What work must be completed for other work to be started as that may be the highest priority. Deploy your team according to where they will have the most immediate impact. Throughout the process, it is important to keep stakeholders in the loop. Provide regular status updates and ETA's to manage expectations.

When facing network issues during peak hours, I focus on identifying critical systems and services that impact business operations the most. I prioritize resolving those first by quickly allocating resources where they’re needed most. Clear and consistent communication with stakeholders is key, ensuring they’re updated on progress and expected resolution times. Effective collaboration between teams and using automated monitoring tools also speeds up the recovery process
