Understand that introducing something new like functional training can feel a bit intimidating, especially if it's outside of their usual routine. Remember, it's all about making small, positive changes that will help them feel stronger and more capable in everyday life. You’re there to guide them every step of the way, so go at a pace that feels right for the client. Be ready for them to be humbled and emotional.

Building trust when introducing functional training updates requires clarity, engagement, and a client-centered approach. 1. Educate with Purpose – Clearly explain how the updates enhance results and align with clients' goals, using real-world examples. 2. Hands-On Experience – Offer demonstrations, guided sessions, or interactive workshops to help clients feel the benefits firsthand. 3. Encourage Collaboration – Invite feedback, address concerns, and adjust based on client needs to foster trust and involvement. Prioritizing education, experience, and open dialogue strengthens confidence and long-term relationships.

Buy in. Simple as that. With any modality shift, you can explain all you like, give them all the knowledge they can cope with. But when they are skeptical, give them something. A small training gift of you will. Nothing wrong with a small amount of aesthetic focus for 5 minutes of the session if they're giving you the rest of it.
