Recommend content and track engagement - LinkedIn Learning Tutorial

Recommend content and track engagement
- [Instructor] One of the best ways to increase learner engagement is to recommend content. Now, there are several ways to do this. You can share videos, courses, collections, learning paths, and more. Throughout this chapter, we'll take a look at some of the different ways to recommend content in order to increase engagement. First, though, I want to show you how easy it is as an admin to recommend content on LinkedIn Learning. I'm going to go up to the Search bar and type in How to use LinkedIn Learning. This is the course that goes over how to use the LinkedIn Learning platform and its features. So let's say I want to send this out to employees in the organization. I'm going to open up this course, and here at the top, I can see this plus icon. This would be to add this to a learning path or a collection. To the right of this, we have the Share icon, and if I click this, we can either recommend or assign, get a shareable link, or share it right on Teams. Now, I suggest that you use Recommend or assign because then you're able to track learner progress. So it can be nice to see all of the insights when you're able to track that learner progress. Now I'm going to go ahead and click on Recommend or assign, and it brings up this box. So here, I can choose the action. Do I want to recommend it or assign it? Now, if I assign it, I do have to put in a due date, but in this case, I just want to recommend it. Over here, you can choose the recommender, whether it's you or the organization. In this case, I'll say I'm doing this for the organization. Then down below, you can choose who you want to share this with, so you can choose the learners. Maybe it's just some specific people. Maybe it's a group. Or you can click down here to select all learners. In this case, I'm going to share it with all learners. You can click here, Do not send an email notifying all learners. So this will send out an email letting them know by default, but if you don't want to send one, you could click on this, and then it will not. So maybe you're going to tell them all in a meeting or whatever. You can click that. And then down below it says, "Add a note," and I do recommend you take advantage of this. Just putting here, "Hello, team. We'll be delivering professional development content through LinkedIn Learning, and this is the course that goes over how to use the platform." When I'm done, I can then go ahead and click on Recommend, and that will be sent out to everyone, letting them know that they've been recommended that content. Now I want to show you one other feature that I really like inside of here. You now have the ability to share things out at the video level. So over to the right, you can see that maybe I didn't want to share this whole course, but I do want to share some individual videos. For instance, maybe I want to share Search for LinkedIn Learning courses. I could click plus and add that to a learning path or a collection. Otherwise, I can go to the three dot icon next to it and select how I want to share it. And here you have that shareable link or Teams are the two ways that you can do it. So you're not able to recommend it in the same way, but you are able to either add it to a learning path or collection that you share out or share this through getting a link or Teams. But I do like this feature because it allows you to go in then and select the individual videos that you wanted to share. So as you come across content that you'd like to recommend or assign on LinkedIn Learning, this is a quick way to do it. Next, let's take a look at some of the other ways to recommend specific content and increase engagement.
