Introduction to user management
- [Instructor] As an admin on LinkedIn Learning, you may be tasked with adding or removing users, making sure they activate their licenses, assigning permissions, creating groups, and other important tasks like this. In this chapter, we'll go over how to do these things. Most of them will be doing from our People Management page. Now, the way that you get there has changed. There used to be a People tab up here at the top, but now we can just see Content and Insights. In order to get to the People Management page, you have to navigate to the Me icon in the upper right and then select Manage users or Manage users in Admin Center. I'm going to go ahead and click on that. And this will open up my People Management page. At the top, I can see the different tabs. We can see users. We can see different groups that have been created, as well as an activity log for the account. Now, I'm going to go back over to users. And here in the middle, we can see some important information. It's the number of licenses that we have available. Here's how many are available, how many people have been invited, and how many have been activated. So we can see out of our 150, 17 have been activated. There's still 133 available. Now, down below this we can see the Users, and we can separate them by All Users or Admins. If I click there, I just see admins, I'm going to go back to all users. And then here, we can see different things like the user details. We can see their permissions, their license type, license status, any groups that they've been entered in. And also you'll see this three dot icon to the right of their name. If I click on this, you can do things like view or edit their profile, add them to a group, send an email, manage permissions or manage licenses. Finally, up here in the middle, we can see that there are two tabs. One that says Add new users, and if we click here, we can add new users by email or CSV. And then next to that is Manage users. So here you could download a CSV with all their information. You could filter it to download a specific one, and then upload a CSV to upload any information to the account. And we'll take a look at all of this in some other videos. So that's the People Management tab, where we'll be doing things like adding and managing users, creating groups, and more. Next, let's take a look at how we can get started adding new users to the platform and assigning them the correct permissions.
