The annual celebration of French film returns to the Irish Film Institute in Dublin this November, presenting works exploring a wide range of subjects by many renowned and established French filmakers, as well as showcasing exciting new voices in cinema.
This year's French Film Festival runs at the IFI from 15th - 26th November, opening with a screening of sci-fi drama The Animal Kingdom, starring Romain Duris (The Beat That My Heart Skipped) and Adèle Exarchopoulos (Blue is the Warmest Colour, Passages), who also features in another FFF title, All Your Faces.
Other highlights include a number of new films from major French filmmakers, including Cédric Kahn's The Goldman Case and Philippe Garrel's The Plough, plus the incomparable Juliette Binoche in France's 2023 Oscar submission The Taste Of Things. For younger audiences, there's a screening of the award-winning animation Chicken for Linda!.
This year's special guest is a true legend of French film, filmmaker Leos Carax; fresh from his acclaimed pop musical Annette, Carax will participate in a masterclass and attend screenings of a trio of his celebrated works, Boy Meets Girl (1984), Mauvais Sang (1986) and Holy Motors (2012).

French Ambassador to Ireland, Vincent Guérend, said, "While a new film coproduction agreement has been recently signed between Ireland and France, the French Embassy is delighted to support another great edition of the IFI French Film Festival, the biggest celebration of French cinema in the country.
