Smithfield has been named as one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world, thanks to its "no-frills, post-industrial charm".
The northside spot was topped only by Laureles in Medellín, Colombia, on Time Out's annual list, which poll thousands of city-dwellers to rank the greatest spots for fun, food, culture and community.
Now in its sixth year, the publication tallied up over 12,000 votes and spoke with countless local characters in order to shortlist the the '40 coolest neighbourhoods in the world' for 2023.
According to the global media group, Smithfield made the list thanks to its activism, tradition, and exciting new ventures.
To create and rank the final list, the team say they considered factors including community and social ventures, access to open and green space, and thriving street life.
Representing the Irish listing, journalist Kate Demolder wrote: "Smithfield represents the Dublin that refuses to disappear. This Dublin 7 neighbourhood is a space where tradition and activism meet, where long-standing stalwarts co-exist alongside exciting new ventures."
Demolder's perfect day in Smithfield includes a stay at The Generator, a flat white and Cardi B (a cardamom-infused brioche bun) from Proper Order, a stroll towards the Phoenix Park to spot some deer, and a few games at Token arcade.
This should be followed by an indie film at the Light House Cinema, and dinner at Fish Shop before deciding between "grabbing a snug at Frank Ryans or making a night of it at The Complex".
