Former Made in Chelsea star Lucy Watson has spoken about the struggles she and her partner have faced while trying to have a baby.
The influencer and former reality star, who has 1.2 million followers on Instagram, announced her pregnancy earlier this week with a photo of her and husband James Dunmore, captioned, "Our little miracle", along with a dove and baby emoji.
When asked by a follower why she had described the baby as a "miracle" and if she had struggled to become pregnant, the 32-year old answered via Instagram Stories, writing, "A lot of people asking this. I genuinely believe every baby is a miracle, but yes, we did have our struggles.
"I think we went into it like most, thinking it would happen easily. It was definitely not the case for us."
She continued, "There were times when it felt like bad news after bad news, it was never-ending and the light at the end of the tunnel felt faint.
"We have seen many specialists over the last few years and there were times when I wasn't sure if this could ever happen for us.
"We know there are people out there who have it way worse, and for everyone struggling, I see you and I feel your pain."
The entrepreneur was also asked how people can support someone who is struggling to conceive.
She said, "I think just letting someone know you're there for them, checking in on how they are feeling. I would avoid saying things like, 'If you just relax, it will happen’ or, ‘When you stop thinking about it, it will happen.’ These kind of things are unhelpful."
Watson appeared on eight seasons of hit structured-reality series Made in Chelsea from 2012 to 2016, and her sister Tiff joined the cast in 2014.
Watson has gone on to write a vegan cookbook as well as founding both a jewellery brand and a sustainable underwear brand.
