A woman and man, charged in connection with a dog attack which left a nine-year-old boy with serious facial injuries, will be sentenced in January.

Karen Miller, with an address in Forgelands, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, and Niall Bryne, also with an address in Forgelands, appeared before Wexford Circuit Court.

Miller has pleaded guilty to two charges of endangerment in relation to the pit bull attack on Alejandro Mizsan and a separate attack on another child four days earlier, on 23 November 2022.

Byrne has pleaded guilty to the inhumane destruction of an animal and is also charged with two offences of making threats to kill.

Judge Cormac Quinn remanded Byrne in continuing custody and Millar on bail until 11 January 2024 for sentencing.
