Group sessions are typically for participants that are beginners and wanting to learn about consistency and the basics. If there is need for functionality with the basics perhaps it would be best for the individual to higher a coach outside of class for remedial assistance.

    - You can provide specific feedback during sessions to recognize each client’s efforts and progress. This helps them feel acknowledged and supported in their personal journey. - Make it a point to distribute your focus evenly among all participants, ensuring that everyone receives equal guidance and encouragement. This approach prevents anyone from feeling neglected. - You must create a welcoming atmosphere where clients feel at ease sharing their concerns or needs. Regularly check in with participants to understand their experiences and adjust your methods as needed. - You can make practice that accommodate different skill levels, allowing everyone to engage meaningfully and acknowledge both individual and group achievements.

I gently remind them that there are more people in the room and I have to address the most serious movement issues first. I offer to go over what's troubling them after the class is over and that usually calms the situation.

If a client feels overlooked in group functional training, try the following: 1) Simply show them more attention and ask them what they are feeling. 2) Ask what they believe needs to change. Then, discuss whether their solution is possible or not. 3) Consider giving them an assistant role if they are comfortable or capable, and it will not neglect others. That would defeat the purpose of the goals of change. 4) Consider a daily rotation in client positions or roles. Maybe another time period of rotation would be better? Ask. Some people prefer or require more consistency, accomodations, or privacy.
